My father was celebrating his 97th birthday, so my sister, Mary Ann, who hosted the family Christmas this year, also hosted his birthday. A lot was going on all the time. It was a very busy place. Lots of food, fun and people.

These photographs were taken using a Nikon D300 dSLR with a 50mm f/1.8 lens. I shot more than 600 images that weekend, and these are the best. I shot specifically for use online, using up to ISO 12,500 for indoor shooting, so I would not have to use flash. The IQ (Image Quality) is great for a web page but less-than for prints.
