Scissor-tailed Flycatchers Index

Scissor-tailed Flycatcher
Unlike the best of my bird photographs, these flycatcher pictures are more like amateur portraits than dedicated professional sociology. These are early examples of photographs from a camera I was not yet used to, had not figured out, was still practising and nowhere near perfect with. Anything but.

Perched Scissor-tail
In most of my species-specific pages, I delve into bird behaviors — what they do and maybe even why. Here, I was lucky to get fairly clear, in-focus photographs of these birds. I'd like to say they were early examples, but as of this writing (February 2007, nearly a year after these photographs were taken) I'm still early in my birding career.

Flying Closer
Not as sharp as I would have liked, but this is my favorite photograph on this page.
